Well it looks like others have thought of the same solution that I have: to use WordPress, which is primarily “blogging” software for use on websites that don’t look like blogs. It has changed the way I work with my clients. I can set a client up with a WordPress site, and they’re able to make edits to their site, and even page additions and deletions.
Last Friday I went to a Prema Meditation class and it was so interesting, I have to share it. The class is small (7 people total) ~ The teacher (Norman), the ‘student teacher’, another experienced Prema Meditation person, and 3 other students besides myself.
I was having difficulty getting into a state of meditation, but Norman was helping us all by guiding us through it. He mentioned for us to put ourselves in a special place of comfort.
I don’t know this person directly, but would like to share his talent with people I know. He was born to draw! Amazing. Here’s what the filmmaker says:
Stephen Wiltshire from London is a star among savants. Stephen is autistic. He did not speak his first words “pencil” and “paper” until he was 5. Yet, when he was 11 he drew a perfect aerial view of London after only one helicopter ride. For this film we’re testing the “Living camera” in Rome. (ColourField production)
I’ve mentioned to everyone that my hubby started working at a well known supermarket as a pizza maker. (Names withheld to protect both parties!) It didn’t turn out to be the job that he thought it would be. It’s more heavy lifting and cleaning and stuff like that. He said the percentage of time that he actually gets to make pizzas is around 10%. Yikes.
I have a few minutes, and would like to share a wonderful person with you. Her name is Abbie. She has been an inspiration to so many people! When she was 3, she drowned and her prognosis was bleak. She is 6 now and she’s been amazing people every day. Here’s a link to her site: www.prayforabby.com
You could get lost with all the interesting stuff on the internet. I’ll be sharing some site pages that I’ve enjoyed and want to share, or at least have reference to for myself. (Yes, I’m clearing off my desktop.)
Here’s some stuff that I’ve enjoyed seeing. Hope you do too!
Optical Illusions (Check out page 1 and 2 as well. This page was my favorite.)
I’m just now looking into an eCommerce solution through WordPress. It looks like it may not be as difficult as it looks. You’ll see my site will have products that I’ll be “selling”. This is only for testing purposes. I will not be selling any products, but am testing out … Read more
Here’s a somewhat long-winded explanation of why I am interested in doing electric car conversions. (At some point, this page will contain steps I’ve taken with my conversions!) Enjoy!
I had a “stock photography site” idea around 2003. The place I was working for had a photographer that would take extra photos that had nothing to do with what we needed while on shoot for a client. They were real good, and I thought it would be great to take advantage of these shots and start an independent stock photography site that was affordable. Not like the giants of the day: Getty Images. $200 or more for a photograph? Wow, I can’t afford that. We used PhotoDisc royalty free stock photo CDs (from $100-$300 ea.) most of the time, but it would be nice to have an alternative. And a good one at that! A gaping hole. This is where my ideas come from.
