I've come to understand that IE9 does not recognize 99% of HTML5 or 100% of CSS3. (YIKES! This browser is 2 years behind the curve!)Here's a way to get your theme IE9 friendly. It takes all of the HTML5 elements used in the Twenty Eleven theme and parses them so that IE9 can understand them.

So, you view the page in the browser you are having trouble with* and see which ones work in that browser, then use the css code that works! This saved me some time and I love it. I should create this for my site and make it prettier.*99% of the time, that browser is Internet Explorer.

Wow! I just did a website grader report on my site and received a 95 (out of 100)!! Still some things I can improve on with my site, like adding Apple iTouch icons and page descriptions and such, but I'm very happy to see I'm doing well!
Aw, I went and added a badge on my site and it only said 90. An A- minus?! Aww! hehe! Still pretty happy.
Do you have a site? What's your score? How can you make it better? (Go take the test! They offer suggestions for improvement.)
The only bug I noticed in their grader is the permanent redirect between the www and non-www address, which IS on my site (and clients sites I set up) but it doesn't seem to recognize it. Does anyone else see that on their report? Oh well!

Mac users may not be aware – there is a way to quickly eyedropper any color on screen, and this software ships with the OS. Go to your utilities folder and do a search for "DigitalColor Meter" and start sampling away!
AND, if you want to copy and paste the color values, Command-shift-C will copy it!

Seriously learning PHP for real. I've been tweaking around in it for years, but now it's time to get serious.
One of my favorite reference sites, W3 Schools offers all course/tutorial information free online. To get certified in a particular area, it's only $95. I don't know if it matters much to say I'm certified, but I may consider it when I have 1337 skills in PHP. I did very well with their mini HTML & CSS quizzes, and perhaps after I've learned more in PHP I may feel inspired to have all those fancy "Certified in" badges on my site. I don't know. I guess it depends on whether my clients think it's important or not. Hmm…
