Hey alright! Who else has sorted through tons of posts by someone just so you can find and comment on the original post? I know I have. This will make that job easier. Woo!

Google+ now has Finally Backlinks to Original Posting

One of the most used features on Google+ is the SHARE
Sometimes postings have a few hundred shares and there was only a link to the original profile of AUTHOR of the posting, but not to the exact shared posting.

Now a link to the original posting is included
Try it by yourself and share this posting and you will see.

It is really hard to understand, why it took the Google+ team so long to include this feature.

On Wednesday I had posted a question in the Google+ hangout but it was not answered in the hangout. Because in the Google+ API all information is available for the backlink. And now this nice makeup is there.

Thanks Google+ Team

+Andrew Brown has spotted it in a one of my share first.

PS: sorry for taking this reshared posting for demonstration +Robert Anderson

Challenge Accepted?

#fun

Reshared post from +ZUG

Hello Google+!

We're working hard on getting our G+ page up and running, and we want to get our awesome followers involved in what we're doing!

We're running a new comedy challenge and YOU can participate!

It is upon us. The time of year when Hallmark reminds us that if we don't buy greeting cards with pre-wrapped, frozen, highly-preserved, bland sentiments for the people we actually give a crap about, we are TERRIBLE UNCARING SOCIOPATHS.

In light of that, your challenge is to come up with the absolute WORST Valentine's Day card sentiment. It can be either a one-liner or a two-parter (outside and inside message).

In addition, to make things more interesting, we're going to be posting the same challenge to ZUG.com, ZUG's Facebook page and Twitter account. The challenge will run until Tuesday at midnight (2/7/2012). After that, we'll list the highest rated suggestions from each page on the main thread at ZUG.com!

Leave your comments on this post. Let's see what you've got!

I completely, completely agree with this article

Where is the real problem in the entertainment industry? OLD BUSINESS MODELS. Give people what they want – and they're happy to pay. Treat paying customers like criminals and more piracy happens.

This reminds me of another business model that got left behind: How many of us have purchased a full set of printed encyclopedias recently? NOBODY!

While going door to door, encyclopedia salesmen kept hearing from people ask "Can I get that on a CD?"

Their answer was "No".

Their sales were dwindling – the salespeople were passing the word on to their business what customers wanted, but the business did not listen because they did not want to lose their print sales.

Guess what?

They ended up losing ALL sales!

The Definitive Post On Why SOPA And Protect IP Are Bad, Bad Ideas | Techdirt
There's been plenty of talk (and a ton of posts here on Techdirt) discussing both SOPA (originally E-PARASITE) and PROTECT IP (aka PIPA), but it seemed like it would be useful to create a single, "def…

Have you given much thought to the cashew shell?

Me either, up until yesterday. I had bought a package of mixed nuts and as I was eating them, I was thinking about all of the shells that used to be around all the nuts. I could place all of them in my mind except the cashew!

After researching, I have a whole new appreciation for cashews & wonder why they're so cheap – considering their shells contain anacardic acid, which on contact, produces a response similar to poison ivy and the cashew nuts (seeds) have to be roasted outdoors to destroy the toxin and make them edible. (Outdoors, because the smoke also creates a skin/lung reaction similar to burning poison ivy.)

One cashew nut (seed) grows below each cashew apple. Cashew apples are edible, but the skin is fragile, making it unsuitable for transport. A lot of the tree is used for medicinal purposes, and the anacardic acid itself can be used to fight against tooth abscesses, MRSA, acne & TB.

I'm truly amazed at this plant.

Wow, this is ridiculous

It's literally sickening to me to see PayPal order the destruction of a violin. Even if it's deemed "counterfeit", if it plays, it's worth something.

I hope PayPal pays the owner for this violin.

While in the store picking up another can of chopped canned clams to add to a recipe…

While in the store picking up another can of chopped canned clams to add to a recipe of clam chowder I made, a woman who didn't speak English stood next to me, looking at a can of octipus.

She asked me what it was – clams? shrimp? I responded, "No, that's octopus." She looked at me quizzically, so I said "8 tenticles" and moved my fingers around in the air, trying to mimic an octopus. (It's really hard to describe octopus!)

She responded by putting the can down and saying "My stomach… turns." and then walked away.

I'd make a terrible canned octopus saleswoman.
