Great perspective – it’s true – we bind ourselves & may need to remind ourselves every day that we are free.

I don’t mind
“Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.”….. – Henry Miller
I’m not into the whole guru / master thing, but neither do I knock if that’s what hits the button for you. Regardless of the means, I get a jab of joy when I come across someone ‘waking up’ to recognise the beauty and power they have always had, and now open to be moved by Inspiration… as with the lady in this video.
Her words, “I don’t mind”, are significant to me. Many moons ago, in a moment of despair, I asked the wisest person I’ve known, ‘When would I eventually be free?’
The response I got back was not at all what I wanted to hear. In fact, it sounded discouraging and quite cruel. “In the moment that you find nothing unacceptable”, was the answer given me. How ridiculous and unreasonable… and what about all the horrors in the world? Should I not mind those!
What I didn’t realise then is that to condemn, is to bind things to the way thing are. To accept something or someone completely, is to help set them free.
When we can truthfully say, “I don’t mind” what is there to trouble us? There’s an incredible incorruptible peace that flows from this decision. From here, we are no longer bound — like Sisyphus — to needing to manage, or exert control, in our life. We can radiate instead. This, to me, is freedom… because now we can be truly influential, and helpful.
I’ll may be away from here for a week or so. In the meantime enjoy yourSelf and have fun.
